# dex Terms of Service Version: 2026-10-30 dex.place and YUKI are made by Dex, one person, with help from a community. These terms cover the online parts: the **dex account**, the **dex membership**, **dex inference** (the shared pool of machines that run models) and the YUKI web app at yukiai.app (also reachable at dex.place/yuki). They also cover buying and licensing the YUKI app. The rules for generations on our servers apply when you use those servers. A paid YUKI licence is bound to the device it was activated on: copying it to another device, or tampering with it, ends it. By creating a dex account you agree to these terms. The [Privacy Policy](/api/legal/privacy) explains what we keep and why. Before using dex inference, you also agree to the [Acceptable Use Policy](/api/legal/acceptable-use). ## Your chats are yours We don't read your chats, and we never use them to train any model. Chats stay on your device: in your browser for the web app, on your PC for the app. Sync across devices is off by default. If you turn it on, it's end-to-end encrypted; our servers hold only ciphertext, not the keys to read it. Coming soon: pushing a single chat to the cloud by hand from its menu. Sensitive tags are rolling out: chats tagged Sensitive during generation will stay on your device, even with sync on, and won't be pushable to the cloud. The Privacy Policy lists the Sensitive categories and explains how requests are processed when you choose an online model. ## Your dex account - It's optional. YUKI works without one. - You sign in with Discord, GitHub or Google. There are no dex passwords. - **Accounts are 18+.** You must be at least 18 to create or use a dex account. - One person per account. Keep your sign-ins safe: what happens through your account is on you. - You can delete your account at any time. See the Privacy Policy for what that removes. ## The dex membership - Paid plans are YUKI Lite ($4.99 a month), YUKI Plus ($9.99) and YUKI Pro ($19.99), or yearly at ten times the monthly price. Existing members keep the price they joined at. Payment options are Gumroad and Ko-fi, plus Creem or Paddle when live. The provider handles the payment; its terms apply to it, and YUKI never sees your card or PayPal details. For card purchases, the checkout names the seller of record. - Link the email you use on Ko-fi to your dex account to switch the membership on. The email has to be one that Discord, GitHub or Google verified for you; otherwise Dex can link it by hand after checking. - Each payment covers its period. If a renewal doesn't arrive, the plan stays on for one more grace day and then switches off by itself. Cancel any time, on Ko-fi or with the card provider you paid through; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. - Refunds: if something didn't work, email saniczlord@gmail.com within 14 days of a payment and it gets refunded. ## The YUKI app The YUKI app is a **one-time purchase at $9.99**, included with **Pro and above**. The licence is per account and device: your copy belongs to your account and is activated for your PC. The local app runs on your own PC and is yours to use. You're responsible for what you do there and for following the law. Reverse engineering and redistribution of the app aren't allowed. If you connect the app to dex inference, the server rules below apply to the requests you send there. ## Room to create and explore We keep minimal rails to ensure you have full creative, exploration and productive freedom. Generations on our web and servers prohibit only: 1. **Sexual child abuse material.** 2. **Extreme hate speech.** 3. **Sexual deepfakes of real people.** 4. **Illegal how-to under criminal law.** The [Acceptable Use Policy](/api/legal/acceptable-use) explains these server rules and what happens after a block. ## When things feel hard If a conversation turns to suicide or self-harm, YUKI may gently check in and point to help. She might encourage you to eat something, drink some water or rest, and offer a crisis line if you need someone right now. You can dismiss the check-in and keep talking. ## dex inference - It runs models (chat and image generation; no video) on machines lent by Dex and other community hosts. It runs model inference only: no tools, no browsing, nothing on your behalf. - It's community hosting, offered as is. Hosts go offline, queues get long, models change. There's a fair queue and per-person limits (including a daily image quota) so everyone gets a turn. - Your prompts and results stream straight to you. dex.place doesn't store them. The host's machine sees your request while it runs it; hosts agree not to keep or look at it (see the Privacy Policy). - The [Acceptable Use Policy](/api/legal/acceptable-use) applies. Repeated policy hits pause dex inference on your account automatically. - Models make mistakes and can produce things that are wrong or odd. What you make, and what you do with it, is yours and your responsibility. ## Hosting If you switch "host" on for one of your machines, Dex approves it first. A host runs model inference only, keeps nothing from other people's requests, and runs the checks unchanged. dex.place keeps a ledger of what each host contributed (requests, tokens, GPU time). Dex can switch a host off at any time. ## Suspension and bans Dex can pause dex inference on an account or ban an account for breaking these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or to protect the service and the people on it. A ban signs the account out everywhere and switches off its hosts. If you think a decision was wrong, contact Dex. ## No warranty The online parts are provided as they are, without any warranty. As far as the law allows, Dex isn't liable for losses from using them or from not being able to, beyond what you paid for the membership in the last month. ## Changes When these terms change in a way you need to agree to, the version at the top changes. On your next visit, you'll be asked to accept the new version before using dex inference again. ## Contact Dex, through dex.place, or by email: saniczlord@gmail.com.
